Hey guys/girls i checked out Ether's Haunted Roller Mill this weekend. Have to say it was pretty good considering the price and location as there is NO OTHER haunts around the area. Talked to the owner and this is their 2nd year doing it and he mentioned he only had about 250 people come last year and then this year they were about to push the 1000 mark. I would have to say thats a pretty good turn around. Anyways my review...
Scare factor: Pretty scary in most of the spots of the haunt some funny parts like the floating/talking head that cracks jokes, very visually scary and gruesome.
Actors: i would say 4/5 stars...they had about 30-35 actors for a haunt that takes about 15mins to walk through soo decently placed throughout, *I would have to say whoever portrayed Michael Myers did their homework masked looked screen accurate to the Rob Zombie H2 movie, very creepy eyes, and did all the motions Michael would have*
Set Design/Props/FX: 5/5 to be just a group of young guys that opened this up AND amateurs i give them props no pun intended haha...from the setting in an actual OLD roller mill, optical illusions, set-ups of different rooms, and especially the doctors office VERY VERY detailed and gruesome WOW
Length: For $10 i was well pleased with the length, took about 15mins to walk through it, start in the basement, go up some stairs, through the actual mill, then finish outside in an all hand built maze of wood and cage walls.
So over all i would say great for the money, location central to a lot of major city haunts, and a very well put together haunt! Thanks for letting me share, if you attended please add to this thread.
