I just found a haunt online called "Boogerwoods" It is on Phaniels Church Road in Rockwell, NC. Go to www.boogerwoods.com and check it out. They have thier own reviews on the site and sound like they might be pretty good.

Boogerwoods is actually a pretty well known haunt. Their only downfall is that they're only for like 2 nights, and they're always sold out ahead of time. A lot of people speak pretty highly of it, though.

Hello! Boogerwoods is one of THE best haunts around! I have been several times, each time being somewhat different. They change it up every year. They combine comedy and horror, which I think is very enjoyable. A couple things to know about Boogerwoods: 1. You HAVE to buy your tickets in advance on the day you go. Previously, they have gone on sale about 2:00 in the afternoon that day. They sell out very quickly and you can't buy tickets that night. 2. Really, no matter when you get there, be prepared to wait. I've been probably 3-4 times and the longest I have had to wait was about 4 hours, BUT we got there very late (around 9:30/10:00ish). I have heard that if you get there when the gates open (around 7 or 7:30), you don't have to wait as long. I highly recommend Boogerwoods! All their proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis charity. It's one of my favorites! Happy haunting! src7795

How come they are only open for 2 nights? If they are so popular, you'd think they'd be open for more than just 2 nights

You're not the first to ask that Wes. But I honestly don't know the answer.

TO: wes2cool:
Boogerwoods doesn't typically only open for 2 nights per year. You are right ... if they are so cool, why are they only open 2 nights? They're not. They DO, however, offer limited show nights, say 6 or 7, and what you read about tickets in advance is correct.
If you can find my write-up on Boogerwoods from 2007, they gave me free admission and my husband donated an expensive mask to them for their cystic fybrosis cause.
This is a family owned and run business that just kept getting bigger in 30 years' time. They REALLY do not have to advertise. They can pack a house with a 2 hour line on every night they show. But it isn't a pain ... they have a HUGE movie screen playing horror moives ... (sometimes funny/bad sci-fi) so you can look up and watch while you're in line ... and the tour is a full 45 minutes to go through. EXTREMELY memorable and you won't find another "haunt" like it.
These folks know how to use their imagination and creativity. They do have a few BEPs (big expensive props) but they rely on creativity and special effects they "make up" that are so cool and fun, and you scratch your head and say, "I have NEVER seen anything LIKE that before." And you won't. The only thing un-original but still cool, is Michael Myers. Everything else ... they created on their own and isn't duplicated anywhere else.
"nuff said.

Awesome! Finally, someone to represent Boogerwoods. Personally, I've never been there, but I've always heard good things. Thanks for the info.

Special thanks to our cast and guides on halloween night. The inside scenes were dry but the outside scenes were soaked but kelp on going like it was not pouring down rain.. Our guides were soaked but all kelp going till we got everyone through about 1:30 am. wow! Thanks to all that came out this season. Big Big changes for Boogerwoods next year.

So here's a Boogerwoods question I couldn't answer by visiting the website:
can tickets be purchased over the phone? I'd love to go but no way I can scoot to Rockwell to purchase tickets and work a full day....enquiring minds want to know!

Sorry but this is the only fair way of selling tickets to Boogerwoods. Where would you be coming from? Do you know anyone in this area that would come and get tickets for you? Thanks
