Scare Factor 2/5: It seems like all the scares got my other group members this year. It really depends on where you are in a group. We had a group of 3 and went in with 2 others, so I recommend small groups.
Actors 3/5: I thought Old Joe was funny at the beginning. The actors that are in the woods parts are my favorite because they can come out of nowhere and get you. We had a full moon or almost full moon that night, so if it's even darker they can move without being noticed. I did notice some areas where I thought it lacked an actor though, like the pirate ship area.
Set Design/Props/FX 3/5: What I like the most about Xtreme fear is the feeling that you really are out in the woods. Parts of it were really quiet and you get that feeling that if you scream, no one would hear you. It's not like some of the more ostentatious haunts, you get that creepy, I can't tell whats out there or is going to get me feeling a lot and they will surprise you. I also like the new entrance a lot!
Length 4/5: I think the length of it is good, though I didn't want the "woods or forest" part of it to end as soon.
Overall 3/5: I love the atmosphere of this haunt the most, based on the mostly trail aspect, as compared to an indoor or mostly inside haunt. When you don't know what is out there and you hear something crunching the leaves or something reaches down to get you from above , you aren't expecting it. It's that atmosphere that some other "prop or fx" reliant haunts miss out on.

I was excited to come back to X-Treme- Fear this year after having a great experience last year. The new entrance was interesting and I liked the story and Old Joe, and the "terrorvator". However, I wasn't impressed by the rest of the opening scenes. I don't know if they were short on actors that night or what. There were lots of props, but the first couple of scenes I didn't see an actor. I kept expecting for someone to pop out from behind a corner, waiting to be scared, and I wasn't. The clown area is just okay. It hasn't changed at all from last year. It seems to me that the clowns are trying to go more for humor than scares. We walked into the tents and they didn't even jump towards us, they just kind of stood there bouncing around. I know the tent walls showcase the artwork, but it doesn't work for me. It might be scarier if it were darker, or maybe if there were strobe lights to disorient you. Maybe something like confetti being shot at you as you enter each room could add some kind of startle effect. I think it's the fact I've seen this style of set used before and it needs something to differentiate it. Something to make it stand out and it didn't. My favorite part of X-Treme Fear is entering the wooded trail. The woods set a spooky atmosphere. It's so quiet and you feel alone out there. (I really appreciated that there was no noise pollution from other parts of haunt. That does set you apart from the haunt up the road.) I like that the path is narrow and the woods are dense. The feeling that something/someone could be stalking you, just beyond sight is definitely spooky. I was really startled and I screamed when I was scared from above. I noticed a couple of actors in the woods before they scared our group, but when you're at the back of the group it happens. I didn't understand the pirate ship again this year. Where are the actors? You need to do something with this area. You have all that water out front. Maybe some kind of sprinkler spraying people as they go by. I would almost borrow a clown from the tent area and have them acting as another character in the ship area, at least to have someone there.
Scare Factor 2/5 - The path in the woods was my favorite, but the other scenes needs some reworking.
Actors 2.5/5 - The actors on the path provided some good startles, esp. the overhead scare. It was my favorite. - I feel the clowns need to step it up. I did like the graveyard and its startle.
Set Design/Props/FX 3/5 - The entrance was interesting. I liked how you entered the terrorvator, but props like the ship, the can't work alone to scare you.
Length 4/5 - The length was good. We came at a good time. We weren't rushed through and we set our own pace.
Overall Impression 2.8/5 - I was let down this year and I hate that. I feel like with a little reworking there is a lot of potential. I did enjoy the woods a lot and I screamed a couple of times. I'm hoping some of the empty parts were just a one night occurrence.

Scare factor 5/5: If you want an “old school” in your face haunted attraction, this is the one for you. I really do get nervous before I ever go through this haunt because I know it’s scary. I won’t give away too many details, but they use every scare tactic imaginable to get you. The new entrance to Xtreme Fear look great, and the new addition has some surprises I wasn’t expecting.
Actors 5/5: The actors are always intense and in your face. I was startled so many times I really was hoping for a minute to catch my breath. I am just glad I was in good company, because there is “NO WAY” I could have made it through alone. They do an awesome job and props to the cemetery girl and the Hannibal Lector looking guy. Very scary!
Set Design 4/5: Xtreme fear has some really great scenes, but also uses the natural woods to set the mood. You walk deep into the woods. I got the feeling of impending doom as we walked and it got darker and very quiet. I could hear myself breathing and knew I was out of my “safety zone”. It was very unsettling for me and my group. What a great scare tactic.
Length 4/5: Xtreme fear takes about 45 minutes to walk through. We were moving at a pretty good pace through most of it because we were very scared. It lasted long enough for me!
Overall 5/5: Xtreme fear is one of my favorite haunted attractions. I really like being scared and they deliver! Also, their admission price is only $18.00 compared to other haunts in the area that charge much more. If you only get to visit a couple of haunted attractions this season, I would definitely recommend this one for best value and best scares. Linda and crew have done a fabulous job! I’ll be back for another visit this season!

Scare Factor 5/5: This is one of the best haunts ever. From the time we stepped into the haunt until we survived the exit, it was one scare after another. They know how to use the art of surprise. It is “old school” which means you can’t hear what is coming until you are there. I don’t want to give anything away, but if you are a true hard core haunted house person like my friends and I, this is a must! I literally came running out of the haunt gasping for breath and bent over. I truly felt I had survived this haunt, not just attended it.
Actors 5/5: I don’t know where they find their actors but they are VERY enthusiastic and take their jobs seriously. So much so that you come to believe they are who they portray. There is one woman in the cemetery that freaked our group out. I don’t know how she did it and don’t want to give anything away, so just let me say she is very fast! Some of the actors were so still you would swear they were fake…….that is until you went near them. Then you run for your life!
Set Design/Props/FX 5/5: Right outside of the entrance, they have a live video feed running so you can see other people going through this one section of her haunt. I am still not sure how they did it because you could see the people that had been in line ahead of you go past the video, but then we all saw a black figure walk past the video, but you could see through it. That really freaked me out because I don’t know how they could have done that since it wasn’t prerecorded. The new entrance that they built is great. You could tell a lot of time and care went into it and it truly felt like you were in a house. They really use the woods to their advantage. It is so dark and quiet that you are never sure what is going to happen next. Some of the design I missed because I was screaming and running, which means those sections were very realistic.
Length 5/5: This is probably about 45 minutes to go through. To me it felt like longer. Time seems to stand still when you are petrified! We moved fairly quickly through the haunt but had to stop once to catch our breath. It is definitely worth the price of the ticket.
Overall 5/5: The only fault I could find was there was nowhere to sit when you exited. Linda, the owner, came over to me to make sure I was all right because I was sweaty and out of breath. She said she thought she would need to call an ambulance. I told her that was a good sign because if I would have come out calm, then it would have meant it was not a good haunt. I can’t wait to go back the weekend of October 22 because on top of everything else, Leatherface is going to be there. Keep 911 on speed dial for me.

Scare Factor 2/5: I was a little disappointed in the scares this year. I only got spooked twice. I feel like there were a lot of empty spots along the trail. We met up and went through with another group from the site. I met Sabrina, and Bethyboo that night. They received more scares then I did. Maybe it just has to do with my ability of not being scared as easily. My friend Wes who is a big badass got scared here though, and it was the funniest thing! Pinhead really got him to scream a bit.
Actors 3/5: Some of the actors really seemed to enjoy what they were doing but then some of them it seemed more like a job for them than a passion. The guy in the bath house really loved what he was doing and so did the guy in the Hannibal mask. For the most part the actors were great but there seemed to be some that were lacking. Linda also informed me that there were about 3 or 4 actors who had called out that night, too, so that made up for some of the dead spots. I also really liked ol' Joe! He was a very interesting character. I missed the Easter bunny this year thought. It was such a demented twist!
Set Design/Props/FX 4/5: The thing that I love most about this place is that it is not all commercial. It feels like a homier atmosphere then some of the others, if that makes any sense for a haunted house..lol. Well anyways I really like the new front entrance and the effect of being able to watch people get scared at a certain point in the trail while waiting in line. The elevator that was in the beginning was a nice touch. Linda had mentioned something about a headless bride on the pirate ship and I also agree that they need to do something with the ship. It is just kind of there.... The clown tent was still pretty cool. The art work is really good and the 3d effect is even cooler.
Length 5/5: The length is great! I love that it takes you deep back into the woods. It's pretty disappointing that it ends. The new entrance and elevator adds to the length, too. I thought the length was good last year and they have just added to it.Keep up the good work!
Overall 3.5/5: I was a little disappointed in all of the empty spots along the trail and the lack of some actors, but over all this haunt is great and will always be great! The people who work and own this place are great people who make you feel very welcome and are just passionate about what they do! I love that it is family owned and that the whole family works the hunt! I would really recommend this haunt to anyone! You should definitely check it out!!
