Living in Winston, I'm pretty much in the middle of all of the featured haunts, but I wouldn't mind traveling an hour and a half or so to a haunt in VA. Word of mouth about distances is so much easier than me mapquesting every haunt.

Thanks.

Roanoke, VA has a few to offer (nothing major like Spookywoods or Woods of Terror). They have one up there called Dr. Pains Haunted Asylum but I've never been to it before. NC definately owns the haunted house world. I live in Martinsville, VA and we ALWAYS go to NC to haunted houses. The only great haunted house in VA that I can tell you about is Scaremare in Lynchburg, VA. Its by far VA's most popular haunt.

Wow, really, in Lynchburg?  My girls are looking at a college there, so Oct might make a good time for a return visit.  Do you know when Scaremare will be open?

Yes.. www.inyournightmares.com All of our info is on the site.  And we actually wanted to come check out your haunt, your site really peaked our interest, looks like a great experience. But we're not going to be able to make it out because our haunts have the same hours.

A few of us might try to catch you guys on the 1st or  2nd, we try to hit as many haunts as we can before we open. I know alot of haunts DONOT work together, but is there any others close to you? Hitting a couple in one night always plays into our plans. Keep posting in on this site, it will help you I promise.

Slaughter is right, nothing works better for advertisement than word-of-mouth, and if you get some Frightseekers there and they have a good time, you'll definitely see more heading your way.  Heck, you may end up being a featured haunt next year, like so many have in the past.  I like the looks of your show, and if I can possibly fit it into my schedule, I might just carry my butt up there.

That sounds great! As of right now they're calling for rain next weekend,(Can you believe it?), NOT that rain will close our haunt anyway but it will certainly not help business. No other haunts are in the real vicinity, but theres Blood Lake, and Scream Forest/Creepy Hollow about 50 miles away. Never been to Blood Lake, it's a newer haunt I think. SF/CH was a pretty fun event. Ashland Berry Farm is a little further away.. I'd say about 70 miles or so, but that place is great. Def. one of my favs to hit each season. But thats all I can think of. If you guys plan to hit any of those just let me know.. if you go on saturday the 2nd and need us to stay open a little later to accomodate your schedule we will for sure, for example if you choose to go hit one of those haunts right when they open and stop by ours on the way back thru. Just let met know what you decide to do. Like I said, out of all the haunts on this site yours caught my attention. Wanted to come check it out but due to our conflicting schedules I dont think it can happen.

Thanks for the advice man, It's definitely appreciated! And your exactly right, word-of-mouth is by far the best advertising method you can focus on. Hope to see you this season!

Dont Run

There is also a haunt around the rocky mount/burnt chimney area of VA that opens a little closer to Halloween. Its more of a "amateur" haunt as it is run by a church. But you start off with a hayride through the woods...they take you to a old house in the middle of the woods, and then they bring you back on the hayride. Its actually good though.

And no, I'm not sure when they open but they do have a website. Just google "Scaremare, Lynchburg VA"
