BALTIMORE — Authorities say a Baltimore city police officer pulled his gun on a chain-saw-wielding haunted house worker who was trying to get "one last scream" out of him.
Baltimore County police say Sgt. Eric Janik was been charged with assault for pulling his service weapon on the worker, who was dressed up as the killer from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Police say the employee approached Janik after the haunted house tour was over Sunday night. Police say Janik pulled his service weapon and pointed it at the man's chest. The man dropped the chain saw, which had no chain and was not dangerous.
Charging documents show that Janik smelled of alcohol and told different stories about what he did with the gun.
Janik has been suspended with pay, pending a formal suspension hearing.

Not everyone should have a gun, and not everyone should be a police officer. Sounds to me like this guy can't handle either, since he can't even handle going to a haunted house without being drunk. But come to think of it, at least 50% of the people I encountered this season have smelled like a brewery.
Do us all a favor people, if you want to drink, that's your business, but please, PLEASE don't bring it to a haunted house. Show some responsibility and just some plain damn common sense. One, drinking and driving is not only illegal, but incredibly stupid. Two, there are few things more annoying than the group of idiots standing in line at a haunt making total asses of themselves because they've been drinking. Three, grow up. Drinking is for bars and your home, keep it there.

Haha, thank you Midway. I'm sure I'm not the only way to have experienced the annoyance of a drunken idiot at a haunt.

Scary story, and I'm sure it's not the first time it's happened, sadly. This is just what has made the news recently. Slappy is right, it's more than annoying when you get a group of drunks at a haunt, it's just ridiculous. Do they honestly think it will make the experience any better? I for one believe they get drunk so they won't get scared. I know when I'm drunk I'm just not as susceptible to being freaked out!!
Anyhow, I just hope people can keep their acts together and celebrate the season responsibly, and if they can't, they keep their butts at home!!

Honestly, unless I was drunk too, I have never found one to be good company. They think nothing can stop or hurt them. The invincibility factor kicks in. They're the same ones who start bar fights and get tatoos they would never think about getting. You should know you've had too much when you can't even enjoy yourself anymore.

Bahaha, I see drunks come through like this a lot before... Just un-armed. and as a character it ruins the fun unless they are just screaming and begging to let them go.. But I see people try to get violent with characters all the time.. and with me being a clown.. and everyone having clown phobias they don't have to be intoxicated to get violent with us... But I bet it does ruin it for the group they are with too..

yes it does!!! because you have to focus your attention on them & keeping them in check, taking the fun/excitement away from your own experience. i had one experience where a person tagged along to a hauted house with my group - i did not realize they were wasted until we arrived and were inside the haunt - they got close to me and reeked of drunkenness. it put a total damper on the event b/c (1) they stunk & (2) their sarcastic comments towards the actors made me angry & paradoid - we could have gotten kicked out. needless to say, that person won't be going anywhere else with me - not even if they self-invite, i will quickly issue an un-invite. some people who know me really well say that i can be unforgiving, but come on, we paid $$$ to get scared, not to babysit a damn fool.

It's a problem we all have to deal with , but I think Slappy said it best. It's been my experience , they ARE going to be trouble, either inside the haunt or in the palking lot after you turn them away. This is why we have to have a police officer on site. Mainly JUST to deal with drunks! It's sad because I think about what they could do later after the cops leave.... after hours or even after halloween when your haunt isn't even open. They see us as the bad guys because they didn't get to at like an ass in front of their friends.
