Haha, point well taken slaughtermail.  You make a valid argument for Jason.  But, you must remember, in the original Friday the 13th, Jason wasn't the killer, his mother was.  So perhaps we can also take it that the ability to kill and be manipulative runs in the family?

Point/

I liked the original mask better, it made him more like a ghost.

Did you know the original mask was a ....Capt. Kirk mask painted white ?

Of course.  And it was filmed in California, and they had fall leaves flown in to make it seem like fall, even though all the trees were still green.  I could go on all day...   Grin

Guys, I saw the new Nightmare last night and although I can think of good things about it; I just don't feel good about it. I like the storyline of Freddy working in the preschool, and some of the shocks were perfectly timed. I do not, however, like him being the "typical" molester/rapist with his hidden "cave" no one knew about.  Also, if he had been doing this for a while and wanted to continue it, why would he send the girl home with cuts on her back.  My biggest disappointment was Freddy's lack of charisma.

That was the same way I felt k2quiere.... I guess I just don't   "GET"  why the writers didn't do something more creative....... I still say the plot would have been "better" with a twist , where he actually didn't molest the children. This "in my mind anyway" ,would fuel his hate for the parents & turn him into the monster we all know to seek revenge.
my opinion your may vary.

It's a totally different adaptation.  Just like the new "Halloween" movies, people that never saw the original probably like the new ones.  Me, I prefer the originals.  Same with NoES and Ft13th.  Hollywood needs to come up with someone original.  I liked a couple of recent "scary" movies.  Two that come to mind are "Paranormal Activity" and "The Strangers".  Both were fairly creepy, and while they did have some similarities to other movies, still went their own ways.

I agree Slappy, I liked the "creepiness" of the strangers & the possibility of " it being a true story" made it even better!
