The 4th Annual Charlotte Zombie Walk will be FRIDAY AUGUST 20TH at Phil's Deli at Tryon & 5th Streets in Uptown Charlotte. There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive from 4:00pm - 7:30pm and food and drink specials at Phil's if you donate. In addition, there will be at least one other charity represented and possibly two.

The walk will start at around 8:00pm and will meander around Uptown Charlotte in search of fresh brains.

Makeup artists may be on site if you need help getting zombified.

Awesome, thanks for the heads-up.  Perhaps we can get a Frightseekers group together...

So, is there any interest in this?  I think a showing as NCHaunts Frightseekers at an event like this would be incredible.  Since we'll be dressed as "zombies", perhaps we could get some NCHaunts/Frightseekers buttons made, or something like that to let people know who we are.  I know someone out there has to have a button making machine!!!

I'm definitely interested - I've always wanted to participate in one of these walks.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to inform people of who we are?  Buttons, name tags, posters, banner?  Anybody have any good connections?  I think we could make a massive showing and bring in even more members and/or haunts.

hmmm...if we're dressed as zombies, what will show up on our clothing? Not that we wouldn't be talking to people otherwise, before and afterward.  I like the buttons idea. I also like stickers and bracelets. Does anyone know what I'm referring to when I say Jak Vanek-ish bracelets? They're silicone bracelets, but have a wider band than the say the Spookywoods bracelet.

http://www.purebuttons.com/order.php?scid=1&cid=2  seem like pretty good prices
50 - 1 inch buttons $12
100 - 1 inch buttons $22
50 - 2.25 inch buttons $21
100 - 2.25 inch buttons $30

Stickers
http://www.standoutstickers.com/custom_stickers_vinyl_pricing.php
http://www.123stickers.com/ - seem to have the best pricing , even some packages w/free shipping

what about brain pops?
http://www.confectioneryhouse.com/brain-pop-candy-mold
http://www.confectioneryhouse.com/bite-size-brain-candy-mold  bite size brain candies
chocolate brain pops, with a nchaunts/frightseeker tag on them, and hand them out - i think that would be cool

i think green foam hands like this, look like zombie hands, and then have Frightseekers: A Hunger for _______ or NC Haunts.com etc...
a little pricey at $375 but if you sold them for $4-5 you make a little back

I like the idea of the buttons, but 2.25 inches would be the bare minimum if we wanted them to be legible.  I think maybe some buttons and perhaps just the corny old "Hi my name is" name tags, and we could put our screen names on them?

Edit:  I'm thinking of perhaps (with permission of course) of getting some 3" buttons with the NCHaunts logo, and then getting some of the stickers from 123stickers, basically looking like a name tag, except it would say "Hi my name is ________ and I'm a Frightseeker.  Ask me how to become a Frightseeker, too"

I like the idea of the chocolates, too, but we are talking about the end of August, when it's still 85+ degrees outside.  Might present a bit of a challenge.

i love the chocolate idea too, buti didn't think about the heat - although, it would be cool if we put them in a rolling cooler like this, with brains instead of kidneys on the side

That would be pretty funny, I have to agree.  I wonder if you can find printed cellophane wrappers online?  Wrap the chocolates and/or lollipops with the cellophane printed with the NCHaunts logo?...

Well, there are all kinds of bags and ways to do it
http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=15037&SubGroupID=15038&ParentGroupID=18881#15038   these are self sealing - then you could use large address labels that you print at home to put on the front of them
http://www.cello-bags.net/?gclid=COHrrpCZ2qICFZAJ2godeDzfyQ  - these are zip bags that have a hole where you can attach a little tag
some of these bags come in the 1000/per case quantity
http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=16653&SubGroupID=16654#16654  these little boxes come in the 50/per case quantity

I haven't looked locally, but i think there should be a place, maybe even AC Moore or Michaels where you could buy a smaller amt. of these bags, because you can buy candy making supplies there
I'm good at making labels or tags - i could make them if we do this

I think you're right, you probably can get them at Michael's or AC Moore.  Might be something we have to check into. You can also get the specific melting chocolate at those stores.  Might be something worth looking into.
