So, if any of you are like me, you're already seeing Halloween merch in stores and it's exciting!
What are your favorite stores? Have you bought anything yet?

What trends do you like in decorations (for the home) and which do you not like? Are you a fan of Martha Stewart's line, or do you like the scarier the better? Do you like glitter, or do you like gritty, disintegrated look?
In my area (Winston) stores are beginning to put out their Halloween stock.  AC Moore has a couple of rows, Michael's has some, but not all of their stuff out, and Homegoods has one shelf so far, and the lady said she'd be getting more about every two days.
I'd never been to Homegoods for Halloween merch before. I found some really awesome masquerade type masks there today. I could spend a lot of money in there easily, its so tempting.

Homegoods does have some good Halloween stuff.  They have a good balance between cute and scary, having a little of both.  Along with some more vintage looking items.

I love the items at Michael's and AC Moore's every year.  I'm also a huge fan of the fall scents at Yankee Candle.  Yeah, I know, that's a bit on the feminine side, but Autumn Leaves and Autumn Wreath just make me think of Halloween, and I'm completely secure in my sexuality, dang it!   Grin

Target actually has had some pretty cool stuff in the last few years.  Wal-Mart is okay, but nothing original.  I did see some stuff in the Hallmark store in the mall today.  And they're having a sneak preview of the new fall/Halloween line at Yankee Candle from 10 am - noon.

Can't wait to see the Halloween stores going in around the area!

Hadn't thought of checking stores yet.  I have been, however, perusing spirit's halloween webpage and trying to keep my credit card in my wallet....

Don't know if I already posted this or not, but they are starting to put up the "Halloween Express" banners around the Charlotte area.

I'm not really sure if I have a favorite store to purchase Halloween items  for my own scary stuff; maybe some of the big box stores. However, I love going to Michaels to check out their little collectible Halloween village pieces. I don't know, I just think those things are cool. There is a store down in Calabash (the beach) that is a four seasons store, and as a kid I remember they had those little Halloween villages. Really neat stuff!

Anyone in the area of Mt. Airy, there is a store in town there that houses village pieces all year, and they always have an incredible section of autumn and Halloween-based items.  Some of them are really incredible.

The Specialty Gifts place, close to the theatre. I don't know if they still put it up, but they built that great haunted tree inside as one of their big halloween display props - i want a tree like that.

Slappy, the Mount Airy store is on Main street, correct? I think I remember seeing some pieces in a store on main street too!

Yeah, it's right on Main Street.  Upstairs they have village pieces for Christmas and Halloween mostly, along with collectible figurines, snow globes, and old memorabilia.  Downstairs they have thousands of Christmas decorations and (my mom's favorite) Boyd's Bears.

And definitely check out the new scents and decorations at Yankee Candle for Fall and Halloween.  They actually have some pretty cool stuff there.  And their "Autumn Leaves" really makes me think of Fall.
