What's up Fright seekers, I haven't made a post in a while, due to things like doing A/C work for a living, it being 1000 degrees EVERYDAY, getting my car painted, & oh yea putting together our haunt for the 2010 season!
Anyway, I am SOOO ready for fall, not as far as our haunt ... we never stop working on it, right up to closing, but ... I'm ready to go to some HAUNTED HOUSES!
It's very tough to do a lot of haunts when you have your own, so we go to the ones that open earlier than we do & are open on days we aren't like Thursdays & Sundays.
I can't wait to be standing in line, hearing the screams, smelling the " fog juice",  hearing a chainsaw fire up at Max r.p.m. in the distance... O how I LOVE this time of year!

If it does not cool down soon enough, when fair season rolls around, it will be unpleasantly hot

Yeah when fair season is over its always like the home stretch to the haunt season but it won't seem like that if it's still 90 out.

I love fair season - which fair do you go to?  I go to our two local county fairs and the Dixie Classic

I go to the Iredell County fair in Troutman, it's only about 5 mins from my house. Sometimes the fair they have in Greensboro too. What is the Dixie Classic?

What?  Did you ask what the Dixie Classic Fair is?!  It's (I believe) the 2nd largest fair in North Carolina, behind the State Fair.  It's always at the end of September/beginning of October in Winston-Salem.  You should definitely check it out.

I like to go to apple festivals in the fall, too.  There a nice one in Mt. Airy, and another called the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival in North Wilkesboro.

Does anyone go to the State Fair? I've only been once.

Jonas, Halloween fever is definitely getting strong.  I'm going to sit down this week and start planning my itinerary for the season.

Rubies, I went to the state fair once, and it was so crowded and expensive, I vowed to never go back.  Honey has tried to make me go, but I don't think I could handle it.  It's literally shoulder to shoulder the entire way through.  Not my idea of a good time.
