Alright folks the generally accepted first weekend of the haunt season is upon us tomorrow.  Who's going out?  Where ya going?

As of now we have a small group going Saturday night to The Trotterville Horror in Archdale.

Heading up to Mountain of Terror right now, if anyone cares to meet ~honey~ and I up there!  It's maybe 45 min or so away from us.  First haunt of the season!

While I would never review a haunt on their opening night if I can help it, I can tell you that Mountain of Terror is worth the drive.  It took us just under an hour to get there, and we had a blast.  Everyone you meet before and after the haunt is incredibly nice, and the haunt itself is very original.  And yes, I actually got lost in the maze this year.  On top of that, we had a girl in our group that actually had to be carried by her boyfriend she was so scared.

We went last night too; we got there around 11pm.  I am grateful that our tickets are good for another night as well because there were so many odd things that happened last night to take away from the haunt that I want to save my official review for a 2nd chance without the distractions.

I will say though that the drive through the new entrance to the original parking lot is spooky enough in itself.  I was not, however, expecting the $5 parking fee, so I'm glad I had some cash on me, as I normally only carry a debit card.  So, FYI for anyone heading to Spookywoods, have $5 cash for parking, and look carefully for the sign to the new entrance, as we missed it the first time and almost missed it the second time.

Really, a $5 parking fee?  Hmmm, that's odd.  Good heads-up though, packbacker.  Might be a good idea for Frightseekers to carpool to Spookywoods.  Of course, Spookywoods is definitely one of those haunts that goes better with a group.

Awesome heads up! I barely ever have cash on me! That would have been a major inconvenience

Yeah k2 I didn't even get in the actual haunt, the girl I was with had a panic attack in the line and we had too leave. Went back tonite though and went through.
