Questions: How far are you from Charlotte? In the maze do you let people find there way out without helping them? I hate those mazes where the people are like go that way, or show us where the exit is....that takes all the fun out of it

Mountain of Terror, you should join the featured Haunts.
We would love to, but we are still figuring out our 2008 budget. Thankfully we have gotten some great free advertisement this year from people, so that helped us save on some of our advertising budget. Our friends over at Spooky Woods has added our banner to their home page, as well as we have done the same for them. So for all you guys heading up from out of town to visit us, be sure to make reservations with them as well, they have an amazing haunt over there. They've done a lot for us since we opened. (and thats not an advertising contract or anything, they really are a great group of guys up there!) Hopefully if we do not make it to be featured this year, we will definitly do it next year. And Jonas I hear you guys are amazing as well. Never had the pleasure to make it out to see you guys, but I have heard great things. We've actually had you guys on our top friends list since we opened our MySpace account, so every year we are checking out you guys photos and site, looks great!

The easiest directions I can give you without getting you lost would be, take I-85 north, to the 311 exit (exit 111) take a right and follow the signs. (pretty simple). To give you a more complex answer to your question, you are looking at about a 2 hour trip. Depending on what part of Charlotte you are in, how close to 85 you are, and of course time of leaving, cause I think we have all experianced 85 traffic around 5pm. My advice, leave Charlotte earlier than 5, stop on the way for food, and then continue on. As for the maze, the way we ran it last year, was the entire tour is guided to supply depth to the story, however the maze is the last place you go through, so the story is over and the guide is no longer needed ... good luck!

That reminded me ... if any of you guys happen to have a MySpace and want to give us some free advertising to your friends, you can find our MySpace at www.myspace.com/mountainofterror ... we also have a banner on there if you got any other websites you'd like to link us on or anything like that Thanks for all the support guys. We never excepted all the unbelievable excitement that our haunt has created on here in such a short time. You guys have really made all our hard work worth wild before the haunt season has even started. It's a great feeling seeing others get as excited about our haunt as we are!

Featured haunt or not, it's great to have you aboard HauntLover. I'm sure we all sincerely wish you the best. I know there has to be some "friendly" competition between haunts, but if you have something unique, the competition will only help. I know every haunt I visited last year was quite different from every other haunt, which made them all a lot more enjoyable to me. I got to enjoy new scares each time! Stick around here, you've already piqued interest here and I'm sure it will only get better. It seems you already have that "unique" thing, now you just need to get the word out.

I would like to hear more experiences from the people that work there. It's been fun to get on here every day and read about the paranormal episodes going on there.
Thanks for giving me fodder for nightmares!!

Thanks Slappy, we greatly appreciate it. Yeah the joys of having variety is wonderful. We tried to be as off center as possible while still trying to be appealing. Seems to of worked out well for us so far. And I got no intentions of going any where, conversing with you guys is wonderful, its always great finding people who share common interest expecially those that are as excited about something as you guys are about haunts. Ever since the first haunted house I ever went to when I was a little kid, I was hooked, so when we decided to launch this one, I was beside myself with excitement. It is truly a dream come true every year when we open the gates. Featured haunt or not, it's great to have you aboard HauntLover. I'm sure we all sincerely wish you the best. haha, thank you honey. Haven't had anything happen the past couple days that I am aware of, then again, I haven't been able to personally be there the past couple of nights, so I will have to catch up on whats been going on from the guys. The paranormal aspect of it is really wild, here we are trying to design something to scare the wits out of others, and we wind up getting spooked by something moving around or talking to us.

Got a real interesting story tonight ... this happened last night to our CEO in our graveyard (which is directly behind the Miner's Lodge). He had went out last night to put up a new sign over the top of our grave yard entrance. He pulled the four wheeler up so that the lights would shine where he needed them to. Said he had just shut off the four wheeler, lights still on, and he seen what he could only describe as a black shadow, like a phantom pass by in front of the head lights. Said he laughed about it, acknowledged whatever it was, by saying Hi. Went to get his ladder, brought it up, set it up under the sign, climbed up to start drilling the holes, he got the holes in the wood drilled, just needed to drill through the plastic, sat the drill down in the paint holder (it was very secure where it was placed). Said all of a sudden the drill falls off the ladder, hits the ground, rolls through the grave yard (some of which is up hill) about 10 yards, and makes a left hand turn, then finally comes to rest. He walks down and gets the drill ... the drill bit has broken down to nearly nothing ... but beings it was just plastic that he needed to drill through, he went ahead and just used the broken drill bit. He said he drilled one side of it just fine, went to do the other, and the drill bit drove right into his hand. Thankfully the drill bit HAD broken so it didn't go very deep, but he said that was all freaky enough for him to call it a night and just go on home. The drilling through the hand part could happen to probably any body, but a drill rolling up hill and making a left hand turn, has me puzzeled. Seems things keep escalting out there. I just wait to hear what will happen next, and soon as I do, you guys will be the first to know.

Whoa, okay, that's some freaky stuff. I hope your CEO is okay though. I think I would have high-tailed it out of there at that point, too.

That's great HauntLover!! Had I been the CEO, I would have tucked my tail and run for it, that's pretty creepy.
I can't wait to go!!

Hey HauntLover, I take it the drill was one of those 18 volt cordless jobs with the battery that weighs like 5 lbs.? Yeah, it's pretty hard to make those "roll" anywhere. Usually when they land, they're not going anywhere.
