First and foremost I want to thank all of you guys that have shown such great enthusiasm for our haunt. You guys totally make it worth wild doing what we do. We absolutely live for the haunt season at Mountain of Terror.
As for right now ... there is going to be two over night stays given away ... one will be that Friday night and one that Saturday night ... for two different winners and two of their friends ... as far as a FrightSeeker night, I love the idea. I will run that idea by our CEO and discuss the possibilities of doing something special for you guys this year. As of right now, I am not sure what all our special events (excluding the two over night stays) are going to be. We are still in discussion with a hand full of different options to go with. So assuming we do not spread ourselves too thin this year, we will see about doing something.
That house ... is an interesting place. The land it is on at the moment itself has had some real strange stuff happening on it, but, that house seems to have brought its own share of strange happenings with it. Every time we work in there, we wind up losing tools that was right beside us, or have two people in there and hear footsteps walking in other rooms, knowing there is only two of us out there and both of us are in each others view and neither of us are walking.
I have been "lurking" on the forums here for a while, but actually signed up when I saw you guys mentioning us by name ... but decided not to respond, didn't want to come off as "tooting our own horn". But, you know, being called out and all, lol Slappy.
Once again, I really appreciate you guys getting as excited about us, as we get about putting this all together each year! And we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this haunt season!

That makes me even more excited to hear you guys are having events like that happening right as you're working. That's a dream come true for most of us on here! I've been looking at your site and the information, and it seems like an excellent place for a haunt. I'm glad you signed up and posted, Slappy is right, you deserve to get on here and post about your place! Where else should you, but in a forum for haunt lovers? Thanks for posting, and definitely for looking into a FrightSeekers night. As I said before, I will be coming to visit regardless. That would just be an added bonus! And Welcome to the FrightSeekers!

Sorry HauntLover, had to do it. Just from talking to you, and checking out your website, I thought your haunt and everything involved sounded awesome. And I'm sure some folks on here agree.
The stories involving the house are cool. I love that kind of stuff. Unexplained phenomena, sounds, creepy happenings... That's the stuff of nightmares.
Glad you finally decided to post! Don't be afraid to give out info. And I hope to be the one giving you praises after I visit your haunt.

Thank you very much Honey ... Yeah, we have had strange stuff happen out there since we opened (6 years ago), but that land has always been a little strange ... but since we got that house out there ... the odd stuff seems to be happening on a more frequent basis. For more information, you guys can check out our MySpace as well ( located at http://www.myspace.com/mountainofterror ), we have some photos up there. I also recently added the 2007 photo slide show and TV ad on the website, it is also on our MySpace. But any questions you guys got that can't be answered from there, I am more than glad to do the best I can to answer them.

Well, we greatly appreciate it Slappy. I personally haven't been out to the house TOO much myself ... I've been out there a few times since we got it, taking some photos and stuff. Helping here and there, but the guys that have been out there a lot, have been quoted as saying "Whoever wins that over night stay, if they make it all night, I applaud them, cause it wouldn't be me ... that place gives me the creeps". And from personal experience, I went out there the other night, alone to take a few photos, and they are right that place does have a very strange feel about it. Sorry HauntLover, had to do it. Just from talking to you, and checking out your website, I thought your haunt and everything involved sounded awesome. And I'm sure some folks on here agree.

Have you posted any other pics of the house, other than the exterior shot on your website? Just curious as to what it looks like.

Haven't posted any of those just yet ... we have a couple, but for some reason, all of them came out really dark ... even with the flash enabled on my camera. Not sure if it was just a tech error with the camera (however I did have two different ones, and both of them turned out almost not visible) or if we are dealing with some form of paranormal happening. I lean more towards that it was just an odd occurance, but the fact does remain that two cameras came up very dark. I even tried altering the photos to brighten them just to see if you could make out anything that would of caused the camera to act that way, and got nothing. However, I did use the exact same cameras at a different location of the attraction and they worked just fine. So soon as I get the chance to get some taken, I will be sure to let you guys know when I get them posted.

See, now that's just cool! I'm very intrigued by this Miner's Lodge now. Did you take the pics during the day or at night? Can you adjust the aperture on the camera? And perhaps you need a bigger flash? Or maybe something just doesn't want you to see it?...

I am really excited about this place, to be truly haunted is a big plus in my book. I had a friend who went to a haunt this was haunted and said it was the scariest experience of his life. I would really like this haunt to be a featured haunt! I cannot wait to experience this place!

Well, not to sound all "cliche" ... but, the land that the attraction itself is on, is believed to be some form of burial area ... it is land that has belonged to the family of our CEO for years. And we used to camp/hike out there years before we built the attraction ... and we would always come across mounds of dirt with no explanation ... doing a little research and history we found out there was a tribe of Indians that used to live in that region many many years ago. Also, if anyone is familiar with the area we are in ... that actually was a very thriving mining area long ago (its not just our haunts "back story", it really was a mining community), down around the Hoover Hill area (which we set just a block from). So, that for one adds to the "creep" factor there. And as I said, since we have opened strange stuff has happened (even before then really) ... but, when we was digging out the foundation that the Miner's Lodge sits on, about 2 feet down, we discovered this large burn pit, probably about 10 foot long and about 3 to 5 feet wide ... we aren't sure if it was used to burn their dead (we didn't do enough research into it to determine if this was a means they used for "rights") or, if it was possibly a cooking fire from the miners or any number of things it could be. But, we had already picked that spot, so, there wasn't much turning back and went ahead and just built the foundation there. So we aren't sure if whatever we disturbed when doing that has something to do with the strange stuff that goes on from time to time, or if it is all just naturally explained. Either way, there is rather weird stuff that goes on. Some of our actors complain to us, about us trying to "scare" them ... when we will all be either at the front gate, or no where near them, and know for a fact that they are alone in their area.

The pictures was taken just after dark had set ... so there was still some natrual light ... so between that and the flash you would think something would have showed up. I have altered the photos every way I could think of in photoshop to get something out of them and came up dry everytime, seeing no real value in them, I just went ahead and deleted them ... seemed pointless to keep darkened photos of nothing See, now that's just cool! I'm very intrigued by this Miner's Lodge now. Did you take the pics during the day or at night? Can you adjust the aperture on the camera? And perhaps you need a bigger flash? Or maybe something just doesn't want you to see it?...

We are still working on the interior of the "Miner's Lodge" tonight, so, when we get it some what presentable, I will be sure to get you guys some photos. Learned tonight that an experiance I had happen to me a few nights ago down there has happened to yet another of our help. I was standing at our entrance wall taking photos, and heard someone inside the tunnel say "Hey, you" ... but, it was in an almost .. unearthy voice ... having my camera there, I snapped a photo down the tunnel as soon as I heard it, and nothing showed up in the photo ... yet tonight, one of our workers (who hadn't heard the story of what happened to me) was saying that he was out there last night and heard someone say "Hey" while he was in the exact same tunnel working. Just a little bit of creepiness I thought I would drop off to you guys.
