Scare Rated: 4/5 – I have been to Extreme Fear a few times and I have to tell you this is one of my favorite Haunts. It hits you where you fear in several ways, from your classic chainsaws, to Killer Bunnies, Psycho Clowns, and my absolute favorite is the graveyard scene. There is a girl who moves like something out of a Japanese Horror (fast and odd moving as well as very fast). She never fails to get under your skin and you’re never sure if she is real until she begins moving after you. I have never seen so many people running out of a haunt at the end, both male and female.
Actors: 5/5 – The Actors at Extreme Fear are always GREAT! They stay in character from beginning to end and seem to become their characters. You can see this by just walking up to the ticket booth and having an opportunity to meet Stinky, trust me you will love him.
Set Design/FX/ Prop 4/5: When it comes to F/X, Set Design and Props Extreme Fear covers the broad range from houses, trails, tunnels, elevators, giant insects, you never know what to expect. It is like a nonstop roller coaster of fun. You can tell a lot of time and effort were put into the haunt.
Length 5/5 – I would have to say that I find this to be the perfect length as well as a good mix of constantly changing landscape having you inside one moment then back outside again, uphill, downhill. Enough to get you going but not enough to wear you out.
Overall 5/5 – I have to say I really enjoy this haunt, as I said before you can tell a lot of time and effort have been put into it to make it a great family experience. Check it out with your other half or take the kids, everyone will enjoy.

Scare Factor - 4/5 - Xtreme Fear has really stepped up their game this year. I got the most scares/startles here this year so far. Whether it was banging on a wall, a character coming out of the darkness super fast, or someone coming to life who I thought wasn't real, the actors got to me. The creature in chains in the forest was great this year; I was super scared.
Actors - 5/5 - The characters I met were really interactive. Beginning with the mother, whose baby I held, hehe, to her husband Charles, out in the woods, both were great at staying in character and improvising. I enjoyed that most of the characters were in my face or chasing/stalking me. I kept checking over my shoulder the entire time I was in the woods. It made for a very creepy walk. I also enjoyed Freddy, Michael, Betsy, PMS bus girl (lol) and the graveyard girls (creepy).
Set Design/Props/FX - 4/5 - I loved the elevator - it really felt as if you were going somewhere and its more realistic than most I've been in. The smells throughout the first house and a cabin out in the woods were awful (which was a great effect) and I didn't want to stay in there more than a few seconds. I don't know if you can count "the woods" as a scene, but they leave the trail narrow, and dark, with a few key lights to guide you and you really feel as if you could be miles out at some parts.
Length - 4/5 - I felt like it was much longer this year. The path through the woods went forever and it was quiet, and it made me feel as if I was away from everything, and it was great.
Overall Impression - 5/5 I would recommend Xtreme Fear to anyone. I don't think it's possible not to scream. They have so many different scares, several you'll never see coming.

Scare Factor: 5/5- Xtreme Fear is always a very scary “in your face” old school haunted attraction. They use the outdoor elements to their advantage, and the farther you walk into the woods, the darker and spookier it becomes. There are no guides and you must find your way through the scenes the best way you can. I have tried moving quickly and quietly, but that doesn’t make any difference. The monsters will find you. This year, they really “got us” near the pirate ship. I don’t want to give too much away, so I will just say, be ready to run.
Actors: 5/5- The actors are great, and I especially like the girl in the cemetery. She is really creepy and can move fast! Everyone is into their character, and it shows. I wouldn’t want to get stuck in the woods with any of them.
Set Design: 5/5- Xtreme Fear has some really great scenes. They use the overgrown trees and brush in the woods to make it feel like the woods are literally closing in on you. Sometimes, when a tree branch would touch me, I would jump and think a monster had gotten me! This had me looking over my shoulder constantly!
Length: 5/5- It took about 45 minutes to go through Xtreme Fear. I never saw any other groups while in the woods. I don’t know how they managed to keep everyone spaced so well, because the night we attended, it was pretty busy. They length was perfect.
Overall: 5/5- I really enjoy Xtreme Fear. They are one of my top haunts to visit every season. The location is easy to find and the free parking is great. I would recommend Xtreme Fear to everyone and know you won’t be disappointed when you visit!

Scare Factor - 4/5: I was really impressed by how much I actually jumped, there is a lot of elements in this haunt that will contribute to the scare factor. I was caught off-guard several times, I was also fooled on several occasions as well. At one point during the trail someone startled me and I actually started cursing at them. I laughed really hard because I've never done that before.
Actors - 5/5: I was impressed right off the bat. The mother character at the beginning of the first attraction was amazing; she even let me hold her baby. I really enjoyed the story she had to tell, and the fact that she said my cheeks would make for a good stew. Her husband Charles was in the next part of the attraction. He was entertaining. The next characters that I was impressed with were the undead brides in the graveyard, absolutely amazing job that they did. The guy with the chains, he was the one I cursed at - scared the living hell out of me and that is something that is very hard to do. The actors do an amazing job at using their surroundings and you can tell they have a true passion for what they do.
Set Design/Props/FX - 4/5: The trail is perfect, you don't even need any props or sets because the trail itself is phenomenal. It takes you deep into the woods; it is very dark and very narrow, the trail can stand on its own but of course there is more to see and do. The scenes are set up very well and the atmosphere helps make each scene awesome. At times I felt like I was lost and several times I questioned if I was even on the trail anymore. That was a lot of fun.
Length - 4/5: I really enjoyed the length of the trail this year. I felt like it was just right. You spend the majority of your time in the woods so you really do lose track of time, also you lose track of navigation. I also enjoyed being held up by some actors and a lot of the actors interacting with me and each scene which of course made the haunt longer
Other: this is the first haunted attraction that I went through alone, I had no one with me, no groups in front of me, the group behind me started catching up with me, but as the haunt went on I lost them. I absolutely love the intimate feeling so make sure if you visit the haunt go in a small group, it will make it that much better. I loved everything about the attraction this year and I was really impressed with the setup of the trail.
Overall - 5/5: I recommend this haunted attraction to everyone especially if you like an intimate setting. There is not a lot of noise at this haunt, and there is tons and tons of darkness.

Scare Factor 5/5 – As always this is a great haunt! It is very old school and is an outdoor haunt. They use the woods that you walk through to their advantage. The further you go the darker it gets and the thicker the trees are. This makes it x-tremely hard to see the actors or what’s coming next. Since they do not use a lot of machines for their haunt you can hear some of the wildlife in the woods which makes it even creepier.
Actors 5/5 – The actors were even better this year than last year. They were totally into their characters. Every time I go I look forward to and with a bit of fright, to the cemetery. This time I just knew I figured out where the girl was in the cemetery and was wrong yet again. She is impossible to tell from the mannequins and moves like a ghost in a Japanese horror picture, boy she is crawls so quick it is shocking!
Set Design/Props/FX 5/5 – As I mentioned earlier, they use the woods to their advantage and to add to the scare factor. There are times the trail is so closed in that a branch will get you and cause a scream. It is embarrassing how many trees I screamed at. They switched things up this year and the front of the house where you enter is very creepy. We had to take pictures of it. I love how they moved the giant Rabbit. In the past it didn’t scare me, but the placement of the rabbit this year made the entire group scream and run. They have an added feature at the exit with coffins. They do a great job!
Length 5/5 – It is longer this year, about 45 minutes and so worth it. In other haunts we usually end up running into the groups ahead of us but we didn’t here. It was like we were completely alone which made it seem even longer.
Overall 5/5 – This is a haunt you don’t want to miss! The owner, Linda, made a point of finding us in line to talk to us. She is great and makes you feel like your important and not just another person in line. I saw her talking to several people in line. When we came out her and her husband came to talk to us again. We stood talking and watching other people bolting from the exit of the haunt. There was one guy who was with two girls. He was built like a football player and he tore out of there leaving the girls behind. If you haven’t gone here you are missing an x-tremely great experience.

Scare Factor 4/5: There are some creepy things going on in the woods at Xtreme fear. That demon on the chain gets me every time, even when I know what’s coming. The cemetery and wedding party are downright freaky. I will say that our group didn’t scream as much as last year, but I think it’s because we spent too much time anticipating what was going to happen. Having actors at the ship upped the ante there, but the bus scene was lacking.
Actors 4.5/5: Most of the actors were right on their game this year. I did feel like a couple of them had their timing off or else tried to give a great startle to the middle, but then did nothing else; they just backed back off. Michael Myers was really good with his stealth and following me so closely; no one in my group decided to warn me that he was there. One of the clowns was great on his timing too. I would say that the least effective were the little ones who really tried, but it is hard to be scared of a 3.5 foot “demon”.
Set Design/Props/FX 4.5/5: It’s amazing how something as simple as a strobe light can set up the best scare of the night. They really keep it simple here and use their props and effects as distractions from the scares. The cemetery looks great and authentic, and the elevator is still the best around; it actually moves.
Length 5/5: This is one of the longest-feeling haunts that we have been to. The woods are a fantastic backdrop, and the fact that you can’t see the trail at times makes you feel like you are walking forever. It only took us about 45 minutes from the time we entered the first house, but it felt like longer. No complaints at all on the length.
Other: They do have some additional things going on at the haunt, like a concession stand and last ride type of attraction, but you don’t feel like you’ve missed out on what the haunt has to offer for not doing them; the trail IS what it’s all about, and I appreciate that.
Overall 4.5/5: Xtreme fear is definitely up there as one of my favorites.

Scare Factor: 4/5 – These folks know how to do it right. There is a lovely mix of scares here that utilize all the senses. The creepiest aspect for me was the fact that the trail is DARK. Any trace of civilization is erased as you meander through the woods. I consistently had this feeling that people were lurking around me...and most of the time we were truly alone. There were multiple instances of crazy banging noises that elicited some great scares. I have to admit that one well placed actor in a toilet shack got me to jump. The clown zone and creepy bus were amazing areas that ramped up the scares. The only thing was that certain areas of the trail felt "dead" and not in a good way. A few more actors spread out rather than grouped together could dial this rating up to a 5. As we went through the trail we could hear the group behind us. Granted they had a very easy mark with them, but I have never, ever heard that much screaming in a haunt before. Their entire group came running full steam out of the exit to our standing ovation.
Actors: 4/5 The three actors that have significant speaking roles do a great job interacting with guests. One young lady in the graveyard was simply amazing as she drug herself through cold piles of wet leaves. The actors that were not in specific scenes in the woods were hit and miss. Some were amazing (and I LOVED the cat-calls when they heard someone scream!!!) while others popped out and just stopped or retreated immediately.
Set Design/FX/Props: 4/5 I love the variety you find at this haunt. There is a great house exterior, a fantastic cemetery scene, a fun elevator, several textural floor areas, some ramshackle buildings, a bus, vortex, 3d clown area, and lots of dark, dark woods. I kept noticing little touches here and there and it just warms my heart to see small little props in the "uninhabited" areas of the trail.
Length 5/5 Plenty long enough to satisfy all tastes. It seemed to have almost doubled in length since my last visit two years ago.
Overall 4.5/5 This place was an incredible amount of fun. Lots of scares, lots of laughs, and some spectacular scenery and variety. This haunt has secured itself a guaranteed yearly visit!

Submitted by: krb187 Date attended 10-29-10 Scare Factor 5/5 - I can honestly say I've never gotten startled so many times in a haunt before. The actors seemed to literally come out of nowhere. Everybody in the group of 6 I was with (4 guys 2 girls) got scared and yelled out an Oh Sh*t or two. By the time I got out my adrenaline was going and I was even more pumped up than when I went in. This is a rare feeling for me and I loved every second. Actors 5/5 - These guys were crazy. They were really out there to scare the hell out of you and they were good out. So a shout out to Badger because he did a great job training these guys. Even the non-scary actors were great. The woman at the front had my dad hold her baby and the whole time she was keeping us very entertained. Old Joe was also good at getting the laughs. However the creepiest actor is the girl in the graveyard that crawls on her hands and knees. She is VERY quick and its extremely creepy. Set Designs/Props/FX 5/5 - Most of the trail is out in the woods and this is definitely to there advantage. The woods are dark and extremely dense so that you couldn't get off course even if you wanted too. It actually gives off a feeling of claustrophobia and makes you feel very isolated. All of the sets are beautifully done and richly detailed with the 3d clown house being my personal favorite. Length 5/5 - This place is the perfect length. It doesn't end too abruptly but never even comes close to dragging on. You definitely get your moneys worth and leave wanting very little more. Overall 5/5 - This was personally my favorite haunt of the season. This place is as close to perfection as it may get in my opinion. I'll definitely be back next year. This was my last haunt of the season and was the best way to close it out.

Scare Factor: 4/5 - The best weapon at this haunt is dark. You really can feel that you are in some seriously dark, seriously thick woods. I also appreciated how old school it all was, both in terms of the sets and the types of scares employed. This was just a good, old-fashioned spook trail and I thought it was pretty great!
Actors: 4/5 - The actors matched the environment perfectly, old-school scares and a pretty good commitment across the board. I particularly liked all the crawling girls in soiled gowns, especially the fast ones! I also really liked the interactive husband and wife "hosts", which was a surprise to me. I usually find the funny stuff in haunts extremely unfunny, but these two were pretty good, and very light on their feet when reacting to the comments from our group. It really made things more fun!
Set Design/Props/FX: 4/5 - Most of the sets are pretty minimal as the woods are the real star here, but the houses, sheds and such are all appropriately ramshackle and dingy. Oh, loved the bus! And I really liked house when you first walked up; it set the mood very well. Should've used the pirate ship better, but it looked fantastic! All in all I'd say it was well above average.
Length: 4/5 - It was a nice sized trail, and though there were some dead spaces along the way, the walk deeper and deeper into the woods is a really effective way of building dread. I also liked that they made sure each group left the trail running.
Overall: 4/5 - I'd say Xtreme Fear was one of the better classic haunts I visited this year. I'd recommend it for those who like classic slasher films and monsters who act like they want to kill you, not make you giggle. Well, maybe a little giggling. It was a fun time.
