Scare Factor 2/5: There were some good startles inside the first section (they advertise the haunt as having 3 parts), and they were all caused by some well-placed actors. The clown section had little going, and the vortex had one quick startle for the leader of our group only.
Actors 3.5/5: I actually thought about giving this a lower score, but the two guys outside of the haunt were great. They were in character the whole time and interacted with us before we bought our tickets, as we were entering, and as we were preparing to leave. Also, the two clowns inside the clown section, and YES I mean there were only TWO clowns inside two humongous warehouse rooms, did their best to keep us at least entertained after they tried their initial startles. It really felt like they had very few actors there.
Set design/props/FX 3/5: This place was very interesting. For it being a new haunt, we really weren’t sure what to expect. The NC Music Factory is a massive location, but everywhere is decorated for Halloween, even the huge sign way down the street. There was a lot of detail given to decorating the whole block; however, the actual haunt itself was simple in its design. I will admit that the decorations of the clown section were very cool, especially with the 3-D effect, and they had some of the freakiest demon props inside the main event. One of the child demons eyes looked real, like she was looking at us.
Length 2/5: I had to give this rating because as we were walking out all of us were asking where the 3rd section was. I even asked the lady who came to take the 3-D glasses back and she gave me some answer that I didn’t really understand because the only separation we noticed was between the main event and the clown section. I think she meant that the vortex and its subsequent chainsaw was a section, but that would be really sad. I will say the main event had some positives about it, but overall the length was too short.
Other: They were offering free “Last Rides” with every paid admission, which was cool. I was actually surprised because usually this is an extra charge at the expensive haunts; so the fact that it was free at a $10 dollar haunt was great.
Overall 3/5: The darkness inside the first event worked well, and the few actors they had were on their game. It just felt kind of thrown together and not well-staffed. I would like to try it again next year and see if it has grown into its own.

- I met this six year old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes; the devil's eyes […] I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply…evil. -
