What is the best recipe or method for making fake blood.  Must be easy and not wash out.  I have a butchers apron that i need to splatter & smear in a very haunted twisted way. 
please help.

Depends on what kind of blood.  Thinner blood can easily be purchased at any Halloween or costume store, or any place that carries Halloween costumes (Target, WalMart, etc.)  For thicker, stickier blood... corn syrup and food coloring.  Or you can purchase paint (artist's paint from any crafts store), and mix it with some water to the color and consistency you like, and voila!
