But there is only one haunt that will make you piss in your pants.......the HACKER HOUSE! Upon request.....we will give out free diapers to the timid ones.

I am hoping to win some free tickets to some haunts.
I have been having money issues lately. So hopefully I will get to come and I would love a diaper!!!

Hacker House is awesome, hands down my favorite haunt of 07.  I hope to get to ALL of the NCHaunts featured haunts this year.   I thoroughly enjoyed the Monster Tour last year!

I am going to do my best to win tickets to the featured haunts this year, if I do not  I have no idea if I will be able to go to any...

Perhaps we can start a "help Karma get to a few haunts" charity, and collect contributions via Paypal?

That would be awesome.
I was so disappointed last year when I only got to go to nightmare on independence and Scarowinds.

Post by: Slappy on July 28, 2008, 07:15:15 PM
I heard Nightmare on Independence was pretty good though.   I think we could manage to get you to at least one, or a couple of haunts.

I am willing to promote, and if I get to go to any haunts I will post reviews all over, I go to CPCC so I would be more then happy to hand out flyer's and put them up all over the campus.

Hmmm, we may have a use for you yet.  Free promoting is always good.  I would PM NCHAdmin, and see if there's anything you can do to help promote.  I'm sure he'll put you to work.  And you can always do what I did.  Put a link on your Myspace page if you have one.

The mustang club that i belong to will be visiting some haunts this year. On the board are Spooky Woods, Woods of Terror, Original Hollywood Horror Show and Hacker House we haven't decided exactly which ones we will be visiting or when but I hope I myself can make it out to all of them.

I fully intend to make it to each and every featured haunt this year, plus some extra haunts here and there.  I'd really like to get an in-depth review for each featured haunt.

Any haunt I visit will get a 110% in depth review from me and it will be posted all over the net

Haha, that sounds like a bad sports metaphor!  Just be gentle, even if you really disliked the haunt.  Different strokes for different folks, not everyone likes the same thing at a haunt.  If I remember correctly, we almost had a skirmish on here last year from a review, lol!

Oh do not worry I will not bash anyone. I will give a full honest review, there will be no bashing/hate. It will be respectful and professional

Did anyone go to Middlesex, NC last year...or planning to go this year?  Obviously, they are not a featured event, but I seen them in the area events section.  I believe the name is Slaughter House Horror Experience.  Any feedback appreciated.  I did not see a review listed for them in the NC threads.

Going to Haunted Pyramids again this year. It gets better every year.  Scarowinds was good last year too.  Thinking about  going to Hacker house, but I need to get a group to go with me.  Can't wait!!!

Absolutely!  Last year, we thought HACKER HOUSE was the best... but we didn't make it to Spooky Woods or Woods of Terror.  We've done Haunted Mill and Campground Massacre (closer to where we live) for the last few years -- but we're willing to travel for an awesome scare!

My hubby and I are going to try and tackle hacker house and spooky woods all in one night  ;D I have only one day available to come down to NC and that's Friday the 17th, I was gonna try and give each haunt it's own day like go to spookywoods on Thursday and go to Hacker House on Friday but I can't take three days off in a row b/c I have a wedding to attend in Lynchburg VA Saturday.... so Hopefully gettin to either one early enough I'll be able to go thru them both in one nite  :D Lets cross our fingers hehe... but I'm excited and can't wait! Plus I get to stay in hotel in Greensboro for 25$ whoo hoo  ;D

Campground massacre is a really good haunt, nightmare on independence will not be open this year, they are relocating and re opening possibly next season. Dr evil's I am not sure will be open this season either, I will check a few things and let you know, but if they are open you should check them out! Also the haunted mill is another great haunt, and it is not far at all from Campground massacre so keep that in mind!

Now that is some good news! I drove by there yesterday and looked for any signs, did not see any so I thought that it was a no go. That is so awesome! Dr Evil's is a must do haunt if you are in the area!

Title: Re: Going To Any Haunts this year 09?

Campground Massacre is good, they have a lot of cool props.  Dr. Evil's has some of the most amazing props and decorations I've ever seen.  The Haunted Mill is another good one, like Karma said.  If you have the funds and time, I'd give them all a try, you won't be disappointed.

krb187, be sure to let us know when you'll be heading to Hacker House, and let us know who we should be looking for.  We'll make it worth your while...   ;D

Campground Massacre and the Haunted Mill are super easy to do in one night! We did that last year and it made for a fun time.

I cannot recommend Boogerwoods enough, as it is incredibly entertaining. It's not the scariest haunt in the world by any means, and the line takes forever, but for the money and laughs it's well worth it. Make sure to get there early to get your tickets. My advice to you if you don't live in the area is to grab your tickets (I believe they start selling them at 2:00?) and then head down 85 to Concord Mills for a few hours.

Trust the smile...ha!  Believe me though, any haunt I went to last year, and I told them we were with Frightseekers, we got some very special treatment.  Hacker House, Xtreme Fear and Mountain of Terror (not featured) showed us an amazing time.  Woods of Terror basically upgraded us to their "fast pass" free of charge, and we skipped the insanely long line.  The owner of Spookywoods gave myself and 2 other Frightseekers a free go at their "Last Ride."  All the other haunts were very accommodating as well.  I've said it a hundred times, and I can never say it enough...membership has it's privileges. Sometimes those privileges are more than you can ask for.  I've also met some great people while attending these haunts, and made some life-long friends.

If I do not get to visit any other attraction, I will be going to Mountain of Terror!!!!!!!!!  My group had the best time there last year, and although you can't re-create the same experience, I'm more than game to see what they can do to us in  2009 :)  October hurry up and get here already...

You know, Doctor, I was recenrly thinking the same thing. The fair is only 2 months away, and that always means fall is right around the corner. I'm ready for it. Time to pull out the scary movies and get the fire pit ready for those cool nights. Oh, and time to dust off the blue leisure suit.

We are looking forward to seeing you guys again this year. Last year on the 160 mile haul home from your haunt , we hit a 18 wheeler tire in the road and completely destroyed the front end of my bmw 328i.. we drove it home with 1 headlight & a leaking radiator with no fan, but it was worth ALL of it! I can't wait to go back this year, I'll just try to avoid anything in the middle of Hwy 85 along the trip.

Thank God, we are FINALLY making our way back up to Hacker House this year.

Due to time constraints, we will only be able to make it to one other haunt after HH, so it's either going to be X-treme Fear or WOT.

We did the Spooky/Booger combo last year. It was a blast, but we'd feel weird if we did the same haunts every year. If only there was enough time!

All the haunts within the area, 2 hour zone around winston-salem have been awesome.  Has anyone been to the haunted thing that Universal Studios puts on?  I was thinking about going to Orlando and checking it out this year.  If anyone can give a review that would be great.  Thanks!

Post by: handfulofrubies82 on September 10, 2011, 09:09:22 PM
Universal didn't live up to the hype. I think I did review it, but the problem was the crowd of people. They sold way too many tickets. All the mazes were like a cattle call. No breaks, just one person after another. There were no thrills or chills in the mazes because you saw everything because you could see 15 people  ahead of you at all times. The potential was there because their sets were awesome, but it was such a big letdown. When we got in the park, the first two mazes were 20 minutes waits, but after that, each maze was an hour or more wait; it was ridiculous. A lot of times I had drunk, stumbling, falling people around me in line. They should have been thrown out. The best things, in my opinion were the scare zones. I genuinely enjoyed them. If you go, go on a weekday or a Sunday. Whenever you think there would be less people. I could go to Scarowinds 3 times for what I paid for a ticket to Universal, and the cab ride from Disney. I' won't go again.

Thank you guys for your responses.  I usually go to Scarowinds myself every year too, they put on a good production.  Tickets are a good price too.  I think Universal charges about $80, so  I'm 50/50 about going at this point.   I may go just to experience it, not a cheap trip though.  Thanks again.

I've always wanted to go to Universal's Halloween fests..but it's a risk to take if some people don't think it's even worth it.
